Time to freeze

Day four. Decided to stay in this hostel for the rest of my stay in New York (3 nights). Its good for the money i am paying (fifteen pounds a night). Apparently prices for single rooms just outside town are $150 upwards (about 75 quid). Full of internally characters. Some with better manners that others (dirty French). Managed to only be woken up three times last night. Must be getting used to hostel life. The corridor was alive with the sounds of Germans single in the showers.
Started the day by heading straight to times square where i picked up a ticket for Rent which is just off broadway. Got a really good seat for $55 (usally over a $100). Facing the stage on a elevated level. Then went to get some breakfast at McDs (I had too i am in america after all). Had a bizarre breakfast of a sweet toasted muffin filled with saugae and egg. I think there was jam inside aswell. The times square mcD are supposed to be a tourist sight on their own. Couldnt see it myself. Full of wierdos (supposed it must be universal).
Then walked up 7th avenue (shopping district) and headed into Macys. It was a full 9 floors of shopping heaven. Everything was so cheap and the mens section was four of the floors - that would be unheard of in the UK. I was up and down those wooden elevators many times. It was absolutely huge. A pair of decent Levi was $35 (thats just over $15!!!) . I could have bought so much stuff - shame my money is running out fast!. Rent was really good. Its about New Yorks that are struggling in a rough area. They end up forming a sort of family. When one of the characters died, all the women around me were crying (literally). The sniffing practically drowned out the stage! Recommed Rent to everyone. The show lasted over 2 hours and so i thought i'd walk around Times Square and take some pictures. Its an amazing place after dark. The billboards are stories high - each competing for space and attention. When you crossing the roads the lighting changes as the screens above change to a different product. Also walked through some stores (there is an M&M world!!). It was incredibly cold. It was -6oc and it was really windy. I have been back at the hostel for an hour now and my thumbs are just starting to warm up. The fleece i bought is amazing - my body has never felt cold even on the Liberty island ferry and in the wind today. I'm only wearing a thin jumper underneath!
Bought some American chocolate (which i have justed tasted - it actually tastes like warm sick - it really does - gutted as they only sold in in multiples of 6!).
